Situated in the valley of the Drôme, the village of Ponet-et-Saint-Auban belongs to Die's district and to Die's canton. The municipality is a part of the Regional Natural reserve of Vercors. She extends on both sides of the river the Drôme following the fusion of 2 municipalities in 1790. She is limited by the foothills of Diois which peak in the North with the Purpose of Richaude (1 039 m) for Ponet and in the South by the Purpose of Aiglette (1 006 m) for Saint Auban. His population counts approximately 130 inhabitants and is called Ponetais and Ponetaises. His average height is approximately 460 meters. The municipality covers 1 321 hectares among which 670 are afforested. A variant of the path of the Huguenots crosses the municipality.
