The elder orchid (Orchis elderberry / Dactylorhiza sambucina) is a perennial tuberous plant 10 to 30 cm high.
These flowers are purple with orange throat or yellow (both variants cohabit very often) with a slight smell of elderberry.
The spur is long and thick, curved downwards and equaling or exceeding the ovary.
A single stem, these oval leaves are quite large, glazed, pale green spread over the entire stem.
This orchid is found in May in subalpine meadows and undergrowth.
She is fond of high-altitude pastures and broom-barred heaths and flowers from April to July.
